On Saturday, the Bollywood veteran actress and Farhan and Zoya Akhtar’s step-mother Shabana Azmi was injured in a car accident when her car rammed into a truck. The actress got some serious injuries and was rushed to MGM hospital in Panvel. After the accident, she was later shifted to Kokilaben Ambani Hospital in Andheri where we saw Bollywood celebs Honey Irani with daughter Zoya Akhtar, Farhan’s ex-wife Adhuna Bhabani, Vipul Shah, Ashutosh, and Sunita Gowariker, Farah Khan, Ritesh Sidhwani, Vicky Kaushal and Jeetendra among others dropping by the hospital to meet the actress. A day ago, we also spotted Farhan Akhtar with girlfriend Shibani Dandekar visiting the actress. Post the couple’s visit, the Chairperson of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), Raj Thackeray was spotted visiting the hospital to meet the actress in the city.
Just sometime back, a few videos surfaced on the internet where we saw Raj Thackeray making his way to the hospital to take a health update on Azmi. Meanwhile, the actress’s husband Javed Akhtar who was also travelling with Shabana in the car when the accident took place has informed about her medical reports by saying that her condition is showing her positive graph of recovery, adding that she is still in the ICU. According to filmmaker Boney Kapoor, the veteran actress is under sedation but is coherent. As per reports, Shabana Azmi's driver named Amlesh Yogendra Kamat has been accused of rash driving by the truck driver named Rajesh Pandurang Shinde with whom Azmi’s car rammed into. An FIR has been lodged against him which led to great damage to the car as well. On the other hand, many Bollywood took to their social media handles to send their prayers and wished for a speedy recovery. While Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor were urging people to not to share the accident photos.
