Barack Obama’s daughter Sasha’s life is almost like every other girl out there forging their own paths, focusing on their studies. Read on to find out more about her life after moving out of the White House
Michelle Obama’s autobiography Becoming and the Netflix documentary based around the book gives a glimpse into the lives of Obamas and how Michelle and Barack Obama were intent on giving their daughters a normal life. Their daughters-Sasha and Malia Obama- were quite young when they moved into the White House- 7 and 10 years respectively. Barack Obama’s presidency began in 2009 and came to an end in 2017. After moving out of the White House, Malia and Sasha’s lives are almost normal, trying to forge their own paths, focusing on studies.
In 2017, when Barack Obama’s presidency ended, his younger daughter Sasha Obama had a few years of high school still left. However, it wasn’t a sudden turn and their lives did not go back to normal instantly after the presidency ended. According to E! Online, they still have a security detail, and just like always, the world is still curious to find out more about either of the two daughters. A year ago, Sasha graduated from Sidwell Friends School, and after a summer vacation, she headed to attend the University of Michigan, unlike her family, who went to Ivy League schools. Just like any other parents, Michelle and Barack Obama were proud parents as they helped her move into her dorm at the university.
Michelle Obama while speaking with Jenna Bush Hager on Today, recalled that they did not want to embarrass Sasha as her roommates were also there, so after lunch, they said goodbye. “When we got into a car, me, Barack and Malia, who was there with us, and then Sasha drove off on her own and said that last goodbye. That's when we were like (she mimicked sobbing noises),” she said.

Michelle Obama also told Oprah Winfrey on Oprah’s 2020 Vision: Your Life in Focus tour, that she frequently texts Sasha, and said that she gives her daughters so much advice that they are probably sick of her. “
Michelle Obama has expressed that she is excited to see what the future holds for them. Speaking to Oprah, she said, “What I tell them is what I continue to tell themselves is that they have to walk their own walk. They cannot define themselves by looking at each other or looking at me or their dad."
