As promised by former US President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama who earlier shared a video on the YouTube platform mentioning about holding a virtual graduation ceremony for the high school student to be graduating in 2020, have come together for the virtual graduation ceremony, Class of 2020. The event was rescheduled by a day to pay their respects to George Floyd and Black Lives Matter but now they have finally dropped the much-anticipated virtual star-studded graduation ceremony.

Since it was established that it will have a starry touch, the ceremony saw celebs Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Katy Perry, Alicia Keys, BTS band and also Indian famous Vlogger Prajakta Koli along with Barack Obama and Michelle Obama where most of them were sharing their own graduation memories while some imparting wisdom to the class of 2020, it was quite riveting. The almost 5 hours long ceremony also saw Bill Gates, Sundar Pichai and many more along with many students participating in it.   

Barack Obama and Michelle Obama: The couple started the graduation ceremony with warm laughter and smiles that itself was quite happening and also the highlight of it. They both first welcomed everyone in the ceremony and then addressed the events that has been going on in the world. “Today is the culmination of a long journey,” Barack Obama said. “Think back to when you were starting your first year. You were probably just hoping by graduation day, you’d met some new people, learned some new skills and got yourself ready for the first step, maybe college, maybe grad school, maybe your first job. You accomplished all that. And just as you were rounding the final turn, the world through a pandemic your way.”


Lady Gaga: Apart from talking about her graduation days, she made a very important speech on racism. She also mentioned she had to rewrite her speech after the death of George Floyd and the nationwide protests against systemic racism and police brutality.


Beyonce: In her long speech, she starts off with thanking Barack Obama and Michelle Obama for including her in the Class of 2020. She also addresses the important events that have taken place in the country and the globe which are the Coronavirus pandemic, George Floyd’s death, Black Lives Matter movement so many others have left us all broken. She also gave a piece of advice to the students while also telling everyone how she did not get to experience college.


BTS: The South Korean ban BTS closed the nearly five-hour Dear Class of 2020 ceremony where we saw each member where seen performing in one of their songs. They also gave a long and heartfelt speech to the graduates and to their fans.


Katy Perry: Rather than giving a deep speech on graduation, Perry who is expecting her first child with Orlando Bloom was seen singing her recently released song, Daisies. Wearing a body hugging white dress and flaunting her baby bump, Katy looks gorgeous.
