After bidding farewell to Royal duties in March 2020, the former Duke and Duchess of Sussex Prince Harry and Meghan Markle kick-started a new life in Canada at the beginning of 2020 and then soon, the couple moved to Los Angeles amidst the Coronavirus Pandemic. Everyone was taken aback to see the former royal couple shifting to LA that too in the middle of a pandemic. However, as the couple is now trying to settle in, they needed some protection and security around them.

However, as per a report in US Weekly, a former royal protection officer Simon Morgan claimed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have to grapple for the privacy they desire right now in LA. The former royal employee was quoted saying, “They were very much [in] a secure the environment where they were, you know, they had kind of a regular routine and a footprint kind of there and obviously various levels of support or be it, kind of was a withdrawal,” he explained. “But then, you know, to make the move to L.A. kind of puts you very much in the spotlight.”

Morgan continued, “The whole nature of that kind of environment is 24/7. It’s constant, you know? So I think, yeah — from a protection perspective, you know, it’s not an ideal choice. But there again, you know, people want to lead their lives and you as the protection team just have to work around that.”

Speaking of which, earlier, U.S President Donald Trump clarified that he won’t be paying for the couple’s security in his tweet. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle having arranged for private security and the couple having no plans to ask the U.S. government for their security resources, the Spokeswoman had earlier said, “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have no plans to ask the U.S. government for security resources. Privately funded security arrangements have been made,” as reported in Reuters. This also confirmed of the former Royal couple shifting their base to LA to some extent. ALSO READ: Prince Harry’s Aunt Sophie Reveals Members Of The Family Tried To Help Meghan Markle Adjust To The Royal Life; Deets INSIDE
