Fans of the popular ‘90s show FRIENDS have been pretty excited ever since the show’s reunion-special was announced. There had been a lot of hype right from the beginning, with the show's stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Phoebe Buffay and others often dropping hints about the same. Now that it was finally happening, the current Coronavirus situation put a halt to it. The reunion-special was put on hold for the time being in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic. However, Matt LeBlanc, who played Joey Tribbiani in the show, has now given an update about it.
As reported by Daily Mail, Matt LaBlanc has claimed that “we got the band back together without the instruments!” during his appearance on a pre-recorded segment for The Kelly Clarkson Show this week. Well, that was really vague, does that mean the reunion-special has already been filmed? Well, we’ll only have to wait and find out, as Matt LeBlanc’s statement can have several interpretations. As for the reunion, there had been rumours and speculations about the same for years, but it was in November that The Hollywood Reporter had revealed about the reunion happening at HBO Max.
The official announcement for the same was finally made in February, after everything was finalized. While most had assumed the reunion special might be an extended episode bringing back the characters in their roles, it was actually revealed that the cast would reunite for an ‘untitled unscripted special.’
Well, as of now, the Coronavirus pandemic has brought things to a halt, but who knows, we might be in for a surprise! ALSO READ: Lisa Kudrow 'Phoebe' From Friends Joins Steve Carell For Space Force On Netflix; Show Premieres In May
