Irrfan Khan Passes Away: When Mark Ruffalo AKA Hulk Recognized Him And Praised Him: ‘Hey Man, I Love Your Work’
The heartbreaking news of Irrfan Khan’s death has left his millions of fans as well as the film fraternity completely shocked. His demise is a huge loss to the film industry, and celebrities, as well as his fans, took to their social media to mourn the loss. Irrfan Khan had a varied filmography that included not just Bollywood films such as The Lunchbox, Angrezi Medium, Hindi Medium, Piku, Life In A Metro, Haider, but also Hollywood films such as Life of Pi, Slumdog Millionaire, Inferno, Jurassic Park, The Amazing Spiderman and more. So it’s no surprise that the actor had fans worldwide, one of whom also includes Avengers: Endgame’s Hulk- Mark Ruffalo.

‘Irrfan Khan: The Man, The Dreamer, The Star’, a biographical work on the actor written by Aseem Chhabra mentions an incident from around 2010, after the success of Slumdog Millionaire. It so happened that back then, Irrfan Khan was having lunch at the same restaurant as Mark Ruffalo and Irrfan wanted to meet him. Irrfan was accompanied by director Aditya Bhattacharya and Irrfan mentioned how he was a big fan of Mark and wanted an introduction, but to no avail.

However, as Mark Ruffalo was leaving the restaurant, Irrfan was surprised as the Avengers star himself reached out to him, and complimented him on his work. The book quotes, “When we were leaving, Irrfan looked disappointed, but then something incredible happened,' Aditya adds. 'Mark saw him, put his hand forward, and said, 'Hey man, I love your work'. And Irrfan probably saw sparkling lights all over'.”

Irrfan Khan had been diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumour in 2018. He had to be admitted to Kokilaben Ambani hospital in Mumbai after a colon infection, on April 28. Irrfan Khan breathed his last on April 29, 2020. He is survived by his wife Sutapa Sikdar and his sons Babil and Ayan.
