Amitabh Bachchan Tests Positive For COVID-19; Despite Mild Symptoms, Here’s Why He Got Himself Admitted To The Hospital
Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan tested positive for Coronavirus and was admitted to Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai. Last night, he took to his social media and informed his fans about the same, stating that his staff members and family have also been tested and that the results are awaited. He also asked people who came in contact with him for the last 10 days to get themselves tested. It is being reported that he has mild symptoms, which was confirmed by Abhishek Bachchan in his tweet after he tested positive for COVID-19 too.

Since then, Bollywood celebrities, politicians, and his millions of fans have been praying for his speedy recovery. Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope told PTI that Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan have mild symptoms and they underwent the rapid antigen test. He also revealed that Amitabh Bachchan got himself admitted to the hospital since he has medical comorbidities. “Amitabh Bachchanji and Abhishek had mild symptoms. They had cough and fever. They underwent rapid antigen test and (result) came positive. Since he (Amitabh) is co-morbid he has got himself admitted to the hospital. They both are normal. Their test was conducted today at the Nanavati hospital,” said the minister.

Comorbidities refer to the state of having multiple medical conditions. Amitabh Bachchan is tuberculosis and Hepatitis B survivor. He is surviving with 25 percent liver function. He also falls in the age category that is vulnerable, and he chose to get himself admitted to the hospital instead of home quarantine.


Meanwhile, Abhishek Bachchan also tweeted that he tested positive for COVID-19. In his tweet, he wrote, “Earlier today both my father and I tested positive for COVID 19. Both of us having mild symptoms have been admitted to hospital. We have informed all the required authorities and our family and staff are all being tested. I request all to stay calm and not panic.
