Tubelight Box-Office Collection: Salman Khan’s Film Registers Marginal Growth On Day 2, Collects Rs 21.17 Crore
After a below par performance on Day 1 (Rs 21.15 cr), Salman Khan's Tubelight improved slightly on Day 2 and minted Rs 21.17 cr. The total collections of the film till now stand at Rs 42.32 cr
Salman Khan’s Eid release, Tubelight, failed to live up to the hype around the superstar’s films. While critics dissed the movie, fans didn’t warm up to it either and the result is evident in the box-office collections.
Tubelight’s first day collections were below par as it minted Rs 21.15 crore. Salman's last two releases, Sultan (2016) and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) registered a whopping Rs. 36.54 cr and Rs. 27.25 cr respectively on Day 1.
Now, the scenario hasn’t radically changed on Day 2 either. For the film registered marginal growth. Taran Adarsh tweeted Tubelight’s Day 2 collections and wrote, “#Tubelight Fri 21.15 cr, Sat 21.17 cr. Total: ₹ 42.32 cr. India biz (sic).”

To tell you, Sultan pocketed Rs 37.32 crore on Day 2, while Bajrangi Bhaijaan collected Rs 36.60 crore.
Tubelight is Salman Khan’s third film with Kabir Khan after Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015).
Real Life Brothers Salman Khan and Sohail Khan in Tubelight
Tubelight, directed by Kabir Khan, is based on the 2015 American war drama Little Boy. Salman plays the simpleton Laxman, whose only goal is to bring his brother, Bharat (Sohail Khan), back home. Bharat was selected in the Indian Army and set to the border to fight against the Chinese forces in the 1962 Indo-China War.
The film also features Chinese actress Zhu Zhu, Matin Rey Tangu and late actor Om Puri in pivotal roles.
Coming back to Tubelight’s disappointing performance, well, it’s Eid tomorrow. Let’s see if the film is able to gain momentum.
