Tubelight Box-Office Collection: Salman Khan’s Eid Release FAILS To Match Bajrangi Bhaijaan & Sultan On Day 1, Registers Rs 21.15 Cr
This is the lowest first day collection a Salman Khan film has ever made on Eid. With Sultan (2016) opening up to the box-office with Rs 36.54 crore on Day 1, Tubelight has marked a considerably low figure as compared to Khan’s previous EID releases...
Salman Khan and EID release go hand-in-hand now. Bhaijaan’s film on Eid is a treat to his fans and they make sure that Salman’s films get a bumper opening. However, Tubelight has made an exception here.
Sohail And Salman Khan In Tubelight
It has marked an opening figure of Rs 21.15 crore at the ticket window on Day 1. For any other film, this figure is quite high, BUT for a Salman Khan film, it is unfortunately the lowest he has touched in the last 5 years.
Salman's last two releases, Sultan (2016) and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) registered a whopping Rs. 36.54 cr and Rs. 27.25 cr respectively on Day 1.
Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh posted the first day collection figure of Tubelight a while back:

He also shared the collections of Salman Khan’s previous Eid releases:

Tubelight is Salman Khan’s third film with Kabir Khan after Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015). The duo is currently working together in Tiger Zinda Hai, sequel to Ek Tha Tiger. The film stars Katrina Kaif as the female lead.
Coming back to Tubelight’s disappointing performance, well, early days yet. It’s a long weekend ahead, especially with Eid holiday on Monday, the box-office figures might just see a rise.
