and Nandain in pivoted roles. This film was shot on a single set in just
20days. Released with no song and intervals, this proved to be the first hit in
Kaka’s career.
Ittefaq, was nominated in 5 categories at the Filmfare. Winning the best
director’s award, Yashji proved a good director can make any film
memorable.
This week saw the release of Sachin Pilgaonkar’s Balika Badhu (1976). This film
marked his debut as a lead actor, after many appearances as a child actor.
This week also saw the release of Hollywood the first Bond movie, Dr. No
(1962).
Born this week was Mahatma Gandhi, The Father Of The Nation. Also born on
the same day in 1904 was Lal Bahadur Shastri.
The Dalai Lama received the Noble Peace prize this week.
