VIRAL! Woman With Divine Powers ‘Walks On Narmada River’? Netizens Call Her ‘Narmada Devi’-DETAILS INSIDE
Social media went berserk as a video of an elderly woman walking across the Narmada River in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur went viral. Netizens were baffled and confused after watching the clip.

Interestingly, some even flocked the river bank and dubbed the elderly woman as ‘goddess Narmada’. A section of internet users have claimed that her clothes did not get went even though she had stepped out of the river.

The video shared by the Twitter handle @Lucknowkibaat32 shows an elderly woman walking in the middle of a river and the people can be heard warning her in the background, yet the water level does not reach the women’s knees.

“#Jabalpur Video of an old woman walking on the water of Narmada river went viral on social media…People started worshipping the old woman as Narmada Devi and people said that despite being in the water, the woman’s clothes do not get wet. #Jabalpur #viral #viralvideo #NarmadaRiver,” read the roughly translated caption of the clip in Hindi.

An Indian Express report suggests that the woman is named Jyoti Radhuvanshi, a resident of Narmadapuram, and she had reportedly left home 10 months ago.

A News18 report climbed that her family reported her ‘missing’ and the police had since issued a lookout notice in her name. Shortly after the video went viral, the police have reportedly located her and arranged for her to be sent back home.

However, in a conversation with the Times of India, Ms Jyoti Radhuvanshi shut down the rumours of being able to walk on water and clarified that she walked through the river where water was shallow, below the knee level.

She added, “I wanted to go on pilgrimage and I had no responsibility at home. So, I went on pilgrimage on my own.” She added that her clothes were dry as she prayed for around 20 minutes after stepping out of the water.

A police officer told TOI, “After a rumour was floated about a woman with divine powers, a huge crowd gathered at Gaurighat temple. Now, the woman has moved on and the crowd has dissipated.”
