Vijender Singh Hits Out At Babita Phogat For Her Communal Tweet On Nizamuddin Markaz: ‘Nadaan Hai Bachchi, Seekh Jaayegi’
Wrestler Babita Phogat stirred a controversy on social media after her tweet accusing the Tablighi Jamaat attendees of spreading Coronavirus pandemic. Her communally charged tweet led to her Twitter account suspension, but Babita Phogat did not budge and maintained that she stood by her tweets and that she wrote nothing wrong. Babita Phogat is a 2014 Commonwealth Games gold medallist and also a politician, and she faced the wrath of many such as Swara Bhasker, tennis star Jwala Gutta, among others for the tweet. Now, Olympic medallist Vijender Singh called out Babita Phogat for her remarks.

While speaking to Hindustan Times, Vijender Singh said that Babita Phogat is new to politics and will learn eventually. He further stated that the country is run by love as opposed to discrimination and that having knowledge of the same is important. He said, “Nadaan hai bachchi, seekh jaayegi. She is new to politics. The country is run by love, not by hatred and discrimination, and it’s important to gain the right knowledge and understanding of what’s right and wrong.”

Further elaborating about the communal disharmony, he said, “Hindu vs Muslim is as dangerous as Coronavirus and it can only be curbed by the government and politicians if they want. But some people don’t want this. And to top it all, TV news channels create an uproar with the debates.”

While Babita Phogat faced the wrath of many netizens for her tweets, she found a supporter in Kangana Ranaut, who addressed this in the video speaking about her sister Rangoli’s Twitter account suspension.
