UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson Rushed To Hospital Over ‘Persistent Symptoms’ Of Coronavirus
It was last month that the Prime Minister of UK – Boris Johnson – was tested positive for COVID-19. Ever since then, he was under self-quarantine. “Over the last 24 hours, I have developed mild symptoms and tested positive for coronavirus. I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus. Together we will beat this. #StayHomeSaveLives” had revealed Boris on his social media. Now, if the latest reports in BBC UK are to be believed, Boris has been admitted to a hospital in London due to ‘persistent symptoms,’ including a temperature.

As per his doctors, it is a precautionary step after Boris’ increasing temperature. As per the Guardian, Boris appeared “more seriously ill, contrary to what he and his officials admitted,” and that he "was being seen by doctors who were concerned about his breathing.” Further, a report in the Sun newspaper reported that the PM is expected to stay in the hospital as long as necessary. Boris Johnson’s girlfriend, who is expecting their child, has also tested positive for Coronavirus.

A spokeswoman from Downing Street, in her statement, revealed, “On the advice of his doctor, the prime minister has tonight been admitted to hospital for tests. This is a precautionary step, as the prime minister continues to have persistent symptoms of coronavirus 10 days after testing positive for the virus.”

She continued, "The prime minister thanks NHS staff for all of their incredible hard work and urges the public to continue to follow the government's advice to stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives." The reports added that Boris will remain in charge of the government; however, the UK’s foreign secretary is expected to soon conduct a meeting addressing Coronavirus.
