Sushant Singh Rajput was not only a brilliant actor but also a brilliant student. He had ranked seventh in the DCE Entrance Exam in 2003 and secured admission in the Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) class in Delhi College of Engineering. He completed only three years of the four-year course before dropping out to pursue an acting career. In fact, he was also offered a scholarship at Stanford University but refused the offer to become an actor. In one interview, the actor said he loves reading and he was science buff. Sushant had a deep knowledge of quantum physics, stars and moons.  

After Sushant’s untimely death that shook the entire nation, International Space University in France paid a tribute to the late actor and said that they are deeply saddened by the dramatic news of Sushant who was a follower of ISU. Sharing the note on their website, they wrote, ‘We are deeply saddened by the dramatic news on the death of well known Indian actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Mr Singh Rajput was a believer and strong supporter of STEM education and was following ISU on social media. He had even accepted an invitation to visit ISU’s Central Campus in the summer of 2019 but other agenda priorities prevented him from travelling to Strasbourg.”

The note further read, “Our thoughts are with Sushant Singh Rajput, his family and his friends. His memory will remain among his thousands of followers across India and all over the world.”


After becoming an actor in the Bollywood industry, the actor had given a speech to IIT Bombay students about life, money, recognition and success. His words of wisdom were not only inspiring but heart moving too.
