Noor Malabika Das, last seen in Kajol starrer The Trail, was found dead at her rental apartment in Mumbai
Actress Noor Malabika Das left for her heavenly abode. At the age of 31, she was found dead at her rental apartment in Mumbai on June 6. According to recent reports by India.com, the internet personality’s neighbours alerted the police after suspecting a foul smell coming from her flat. The news agency ANI reports that she may have committed suicide, which is yet to be confirmed by the officials. As per the agency, her body was found hanging from the ceiling fan of her house in a “decomposed condition” An investigation into the matter is currently underway. Her body was recovered from her Lokhandwala apartment on Thursday.
The report by India.com, further states that the Indian Cinema Workers Association has appealed to the Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis to set up an inquiry into the matter. Various medications, her mobile phone, and her personal diary were recovered from the rental apartment during the house search. The body was moved to the Siddharth Hospital in Goregaon for a post-mortem examination.
Quoting a Mid-Day report, the publication states that the police performed her last rites on Sunday with the assistance of Mamdani Health and Education Trust NGO, an organisation that handles the cremation of unclaimed bodies in the city, after no one from her family, despite repeated efforts of contacting, didn’t come forward.
For the unversed, Noor Malabika Das was last seen in The Trial: Pyaar Kaanoon Dhokha (2023). The web series also starred Kajol, Kubbra Sait, Alyy Khan, Jisshu Sengupta, and others in pivotal roles. Before making a name for herself in the film industry, the late actress worked as an air hostess with Qatar Airways. Hailing from Assam, she has worked on projects like Teekhi Chatni, Charamsukh, Dekhi Andekhi, Walkaman, Siskiyaan, Jaghanya Upaya, and Backrod Hustale.
