Shakira was left heartbroken, and frustrated following the recent events that unfolded in her relationship with former Spain and Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué. The singer, who shares two children with Piqué, parted ways with the footballer after he moved on with his new girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti.

Shakira penned her heart out as she gave an emotional update while posting a scenic view of Barcelona and mentioned that she is leaving the country with her sons to start a “new chapter in the pursuit of their happiness”.
"I settled in Barcelona to give my children a stability, the same we are now looking for in another corner of the world next to family, friends and the sea. Today we start a new chapter in the pursuit of their happiness (translated to English)," the 46-year-old singer wrote.
Shakira expressed her gratitude for friendships built in the city and added, "Thank you to everyone who surfed alongside me so many waves there in Barcelona, the city where I learned that friendship is certainly longer than love."
Shakira even cheered for those who helped her grow, the singer’s sentimental words included, "Thank you to everyone who has been there to cheer me up, dried my tears, inspired me and made me grow. Thank you to my Spanish audience who have always wrapped me in their love and loyalty."
"For you just a see you later and as my father said so many times, see you around the curves," she signed off her note.

The singer also shared a view of the city outside the plane on Instagram Story and wrote (translated to English), "But things are not always as we dreamed them. Sometimes we run but we never get there. Don't doubt that I'll always be here."
Earlier this year, Shakira released a song called TQG, dissing Gerard Pique about him cheating on her with Clara Chia Marti.
