Industrialist and media mogul Ramoji Rao’s untimely passing has left the Tulugu entertainment industry as well as the netizens in mourning. He breathed his last in the early hours of Saturday, June 8, at the age of 87. Media reports state that he was undergoing treatment at the Star Hospital in Telangana’s Hyderabad at the time of his passing. His last rites were conducted on Sunday morning at the Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. As reported by the Free Press Journal, the last rites were held with state honours of the Telangana government.

News agency ANI took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share videos of Ramoji Rao’s last rites. TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu also attended the ceremony and carried his mortal remains on his shoulder. Andhra Pradesh government nominated 3 senior IAS officers to attend the funeral. The state government also announced that it would observe state mourning on Sunday (June 9) and Monday (June 10). As soon as the news of his passing made the headlines, top leaders of the country like President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi, along with other well-known celebrities condoled his death. 







For those who don’t know, Ramoji Rao leaves behind his legacy after his untimely demise. Over the years, he built many successful business ventures and media productions. Eenadu also became a major force in Telugu media. Talking about his other business ventures, it includes a film distribution company Mayuri Film Distributors, a production house Usha Kiran Movies, a hotel chain Dolphin Group of Hotels, and a financial services firm Margadarsi Chit Fund. The head of the ETV Network of television channels, received Padma Vibhushan in 2016 from the then-President Pranab Mukherjee.
