Masala Chai has secured the impressive title of the second-best non-alcoholic beverage globally! This proclamation holds significant weight, especially for Indians who might argue it deserves the top spot. In Indian households, chai is not just a beverage; it's an emotion. Regardless of the season or time of day, Indians relish a steaming cup of tea, be it first thing in the morning, between meals, during work breaks, or any other moment. Chai is an integral part of their daily routine, providing the much-needed fuel to navigate through the day. The acknowledgement by TasteAtlas, an encyclopedia of traditional dishes and authentic culinary experiences worldwide, solidifies Masala Chai's status on the prestigious list of the World's Best Non-Alcoholic Beverages.

TasteAtlas has unveiled the world's most cherished non-alcoholic beverages, and Masala Chai takes the second position. Topping the list is Mexico's Aguas Frescas, a beverage crafted with a medley of fruits, cucumbers, flowers, seeds, and cereals blended with sugar and water. Announcing this revelation on Instagram, the food guide shared, "Chai masala is an aromatic beverage originating from India. It is made with a combination of sweetened black tea and milk that is spiced with a masala mix - which typically includes cardamom, ground ginger, cloves, cinnamon, and black peppercorns."
