During the explosive tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle revealed they are going to have a baby girl. On Friday, the royal couple announced the arrival of their second child with utmost happiness. A spokesperson revealed that the child is named Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana Mountbatten-Windsor. Now, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton are delighted as they welcome Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s second child into the royal family.
In their official Instagram account, Kate and William shared a happy family picture of Harry and Meghan when she was pregnant along with their son Archie. Backing the beautiful photo, the royal couple wrote, “We are all delighted by the happy news of the arrival of baby Lili. Congratulations to Harry, Meghan and Archie.” Even the official handle of The Royal Family also shared the happy news and wrote, “Congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the birth of Lilibet Diana! The Queen, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted with the news. Lilibet is Her Majesty’s 11th great-grandchild.”
After the arrival of the baby, an official statement was shared on the Archewell Foundation website that read, “Lili was born on Friday, June 4 at 11:40 a.m. in the trusted care of the doctors and staff at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, CA. She weighed 7 lbs 11 oz. Both mother and child are healthy and well, and settling in at home.”
According to a report, their daughter has been named after the baby’s great-grandmother and Queen Elizabeth II while her middle name ‘Diana’ is in honour of her late grandmother, the Princess of Wales.
