He was recently slammed by the internet users for sharing a controversial ‘first picture from the moon’ photo, which led people to believe that he was mocking the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

Now, days after being trolled for it, he yet again took to his Twitter handle to celebrate the successful landing of Chandrayaan 3 on the lunar south pole. On Wednesday, he took to the micro-blogging website just like every Indian, to celebrate the win. He wrote, “PROUD MOMENT for INDIA and to Humankind.. For the unversed, the 58-year-old actor had shared an animated photo, where a man in a lungi and chequered shirt is seen pouring tea in classic South Indian fashion. After getting slammed by the netizens for mocking Indian scientists and their hard work, he had taken to his Twitter handle to issue a clarification. He had shared, “Hate sees only Hate.. i was referring to a joke of #Armstrong times .. celebrating our kerala Chaiwala .. which Chaiwala did the TROLLS see ?? .. if you dont get a joke then the joke is on you .. Talking about the landing of Chandrayaan 3, August 23rd, 2023 became a day to remember for every Indian as the country emerged as the first nation to land near the South Pole, which has become the hottest new destination since traces of water were found on the moon. According to the reports, over the next 14 days, the Pragyan Rover will send images and data from the surface of the moon. Following which, its activity is likely to slow down, given that it is powered by solar cells.
