Fawad Khan will reportedly be making his Bollywood comeback with a rom-com co-starring Vaani Kapoor
Pakistani actor Fawad Khan enjoys a huge fanbase all in India. He left the audiences impressed with his charming on-screen personality and versatile performances. As one might know, earlier Pakistani actors were banned from India after the URI attack in 2016. It was recently, that the Bombay High Court lifted the ban for Pakistani artists performing in India. Well, the actor is all set to reportedly make his comeback in Bollywood 8 years after he was seen on the big screen in Karan Johar’s directorial Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
Yes, you read that right! A recent report by the Free Press Journal states that Fawad will star in an upcoming romantic-comedy Aarti Bagdi directorial, co-starring Vaani Kapoor. The untitled international film is a Hindi-language film that will entirely be shot in the United Kingdom. A source quoted by the media publication stated, “Fawad Khan has a massive international pull given his popularity among South Asians worldwide. He has also been a part of the Marvel cinematic universe.”
The source went on to add that the project is being kept under wraps and everyone associated with it is “tight-lipped” about it. The source also shared, “The producers will announce this project just before it starts its filming schedule in the UK.” The upcoming project will mark Eastwood Studios’s first international collaboration.
Talking about the project, the rom-com will focus on two broken individuals coming together by a stroke of luck and ending up helping each other. They will unintentionally fall in love. The source also added, “Vaani Kapoor has been a part of big films, and she was the perfect choice for this project, given how she has protected herself from being overexposed. The makers wanted an incredibly fresh cast where Fawad falls in love with a gorgeous Indian girl and Vaani fits right in.”
The shooting process of the rom-com will start in September and wrap up by November.
On the work front, Vaani Kapoor will be next seen in Badtameez Gill, Khel Khel Mein, and Raid 2. On the other hand, Fawad Khan will be seen in Barzakh, co-starring Sanam Saeed.
