Bollywood actress and politician Kangana Ranaut has reached out to West Bengal's Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, seeking assistance in locating filmmaker Sanoj Kumar Mishra, who has reportedly gone missing in Kolkata. Sanoj is known for directing the film "The Diary of West Bengal," which has recently been mired in controversy following the release of its trailer. The situation escalated when the West Bengal government filed a case against him, prompting Sanoj to travel to Kolkata on August 14 to attend a court hearing related to the matter. In a heartfelt post on her Instagram story, Kangana shared the distressing news about Sanoj’s disappearance. She explained, “He is Sanoj Kumar Mishra, he has directed a film called The Diary of West Bengal. After the trailer of his movie released, the Mamata Banerjee government filed a case against him, and he went to Kolkata for a court hearing.” She expressed her concern for Sanoj’s wife, who has been frantically trying to reach out for help, stating that she is "beyond devastated." Adding to the gravity of the situation, Sanoj had previously expressed his fears regarding his safety in social media posts. He indicated that he felt immense pressure and stress leading up to the film's release, which is scheduled for August 30. In one of his videos, he mentioned being overwhelmed by governmental pressure and hinted at potential threats to his well-being. He stated, “I'm broken down by government pressure and suppressive policy over this movie.” Recently, he also sought solace by visiting Chitrakoot to receive blessings from Guru Swami Ram Bhadracharya Ji, reflecting his search for spiritual support amid these troubling circumstances.
