Apart from being a cricketer, Dhoni is a mentor, businessman, film producer, an honorary Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Territorial Army, and a qualified paratrooper. In 2020, MS Dhoni turned a full-time farmer in his hometown, Ranchi. The man of many talents practised farming on around 40 acres of land, and amid all praises, many have been curious to know the reason behind him choosing this profession. Now, fans are finally able to understand why the cricketer chose farming via a rare and long-lost video interview, which finally made it to the internet. Opening about the same, Dhoni shared that he had been farming since he was a child, adding that he got the idea of making it more extensive during the pandemic.
Mahi said: "I come from a small town. From childhood, we had proximity to farming was there. It was not a new concept for. As far as this farming is concerned, we started before Covid hit. We had land of around 40 acres but were farming on just 4 to 5 acres. During Covid, when I had time in my hand, I felt this was the right time to enter farming full time."
Further in the video interview, MS Dhoni maintained that he finds the process of agriculture very fascinating. Talking about the same, he shared how a ladyfinger, when you see it at night, is small in size and grows full in size the next morning.
The cricketer elaborated that the process of crop production is so intriguing that it made him more enthusiastic about farming.
MS Dhoni’s daughter Ziva is truly inspired by him and following Daddy’s footsteps, she wishes to become a naturalist.
Earlier, Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s wife, Sakshi Dhoni sat for an interview with Hyderabad Chronicle and revealed interesting details about her darling daughter. Sakshi shared that Ziva has the qualities of both her parents and is interested in becoming a Naturalist.
Revealing more details about Ziva's curious nature, the loving mommy said: "Ziva is a bit of both of us. She is currently interested in becoming a Naturalist and has a lot of questions about the environment and animals."
