Malayalam actor Mohanlal, widely celebrated for his iconic roles in Indian cinema, has recently been hospitalised at the Amrita Institute of Medical Science in Kochi, Kerala. This development comes shortly after he returned to Kochi from Gujarat, where he had been busy completing the shooting schedule for his highly anticipated film, L2: Empuraan. The actor, who is 64 years old, was admitted to the hospital due to breathing difficulties and generalized myalgia, which is a form of muscle pain. The hospital authorities released an official statement regarding Mohanlal's health, which was shared by industry insider Sreedhar Pillai. The statement confirmed that Mohanlal had been experiencing a high-grade fever, respiratory challenges, and muscle pain. Doctors suspect that he might have contracted a viral respiratory infection. Given his condition, Mohanlal has been advised to rest for five days and to avoid crowded places to aid his recovery. Reports indicate that his health took a turn for the worse after he returned to Kochi, but he is currently under observation and showing signs of recovery.
