Miss South Africa 2020: A Virtual Beauty Pageant All Set To Happen In August Including The Coronation Ceremony
Currently, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, from movie releases to musicians hosting virtual concerts, the world is moving towards a virtual space. Like we all are well aware, in order to curb the rampant spreading of the virus, it is required for everyone to maintain social distancing. As many of the beauty pageants and mass gatherings were cancelled or postponed until further notice this year, the organizers of Miss South Africa 2020 pageant have found a new way and are hosting the competition virtually.

Just recently, according to a report in  wionews.com, an official statement released by the Chief executive of the Miss South Africa Organization Stephanie Weil said, “Last year the Miss South Africa Organization put the entry process online to make it as easy as possible for would-be contestants, as there were no forms to download and no regional auditions to which hopefuls had to travel. We did this in order to reach as many young women as possible and give candidates from any region of the country the opportunity to take part. This was hugely successful and we received a record number of entries last year and expect to better this again in 2020.”

As per the official statement shared, the Miss South Africa 2020 pageant is likely to happen later in August this year and the candidates will be applying through the online process introduced by the organization last year. The contestants will need to download forms online and submit their respective applications, and the process will also give many young women possible the opportunity to take part. Miss South Africa 2020 will telecast live on the channels M-Net and Mzansi Magic and according to the organization, the crowning of the pageant winner will also take place virtually.

Meanwhile, the all-new logo of the pageant was unveiled last week. The logo was released with the tagline ‘Face Your Power. Embrace Your Future. The motto of the pageant organisation this year is to look out for contestants who will not be trained like a typical pageant contestant, but instead, be trained to be powerful and career-oriented women working towards the development of the society.  Also Read: Miss World 2019: Jamaica's Toni-Ann Singh Gets Top Prize, India’s Suman Rao Bags The Third Spot
