Late Milkha Singh’s Son Jeev Singh Reveals Farhan Akhtar Was In Constant Touch With His Family During Tough Times; Says ‘He Spoke To Dad And Kept His Spirits Up’
Legendary sprinter Milkha Singh passed away recently after battling COVID-19 for almost a month. When the Flying Singh passed away, Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar made an emotional post, remembering him. Reacting to that post, Milkha Singh’s son Jeev Singh took to his Twitter and opened up about Farhan Akhtar’s contributions towards his family during their tough times. Jeev thanked Farhan for being there throughout the difficult times. He went on to call Farhan Akhtar the “brother” he never had, in his tweet.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Jeev Milkha Singh tweeted, “A very special thank you to @FarOutAkhtar, who has become the brother I never had. Not only was he, as were many other members of the Bhaag Milkha Bhaag team, in constant touch with our family throughout these difficult times, he also spoke to dad and kept his spirits up...” He shared that Farhan spoke to the legendary sprinter and kept his spirits up. Jeev Singh added, “I also got to hear about Farhan's interviews and the tributes he paid to dad in several media interaction. I have told you all so, but I will put it here, @FarOutAkhtar, @RakeyshOmMehra, @prasoonjoshi_ and the whole team - you guys are family. Thanks for the support.” Jeev Singh thanked Farhan Akhtar, Rakeysh Om Mehra, and Prasoon Joshi for the support and called them family in his message.

For the unversed, Farhan Akhtar portrayed Milkha Singh’s character in the film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag- a movie based on the life of the legendary sprinter. The film released in 2013. Milkha Singh breathed his last on June 18, 2021. He passed away just five days after his wife Nirmal Kaur’s demise to COVID-19.
