Kamal Haasan Pays Tribute To India's Constitution On Its 75th Anniversary, Calls It A global Example Of Democracy
Actor Kamal Haasan says that the constitution has made India a democratic country as it is today as an example to the world. Kamal expressed his respect for the Constitution of India through a note shared on his  X account, on the 75th anniversary of the Constitution.

Seventy-five years ago on this day, an important chapter in the history of India was written. Two years, 11 months and seventeen days of hard work by a number of people from different parts of the country resulted in the sacred Constitution that explains how we Indians should be governed.

When these geniuses gathered in the central hall of the Parliament to draft the constitution, the country was facing great crisis. It wasn't long before we got our independence. The conflicts created by partition and the biggest exodus in human history were making people's lives difficult. The biggest challenge was to transform a large population of many cultures, religions and languages into one country. Foreign observers even doubted India's ability to continue as a democracy.

But those patriots saw crises as opportunities. For the first time in history the Indian people had the opportunity to decide how they should be governed. It was a document that reflected the ancient cultural heritage of India, the great freedom struggle and the aspirations of billions of Indians. It was that constitution that made India a model democracy for the world.

Every patriotic Indian should be ready to read our Constitution, recognize its values, commit to it and understand what it means to be an Indian.
