Veteran lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar is an avid social media user. He often takes to his official social media handles to open up about his views on the ongoing matters around the world. On Monday morning, he left his fans worried when he revealed that his account had been hacked. Taking to his X handle, he shared that the “harmless” tweet about the Indian team participating in the Olympics hadn’t been written by him.


He wrote, “My X ID is hacked. There is a message ostensibly from my account about our Indian team for Olympics. It is totally harmless but not sent by me. We are in the process of complaining to the concern authorities in X.” It is to be noted that the Olympics tweet has been deleted from his timeline. Netizens were quick to rush to the comment section of his post to enquire about the same thing. While some asked him to change his password, others hoped for the issues to be resolved soon. Akhtar recently got into a spat with a netizen over his ‘rant’ against Israel. Often being criticised by internet users for his controversial tweets and social commentary, the 79-year-old had lashed out at Israel for justifying their “round-the-clock bombing on helpless civilians of Gaza” by referring to the horrifying bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Calling out the netizen, the veteran wrote, “I have always condemned all kind of terrorism . Mob terrorism , bomb terrorism , state terrorism . But you will choose not to understand me Avinash because you are a pathetic nobody who is trying to find an identity by becoming a bigot.”


Talking about the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024, India’s Manu Bhaker won a bronze medal in shooting and also became the first Indian woman to win an Olympic medal. She has received praises and congratulatory messages from many Bollywood celebrities.
