Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker Gets An Eight-Minute Standing Ovation At The Venice Film Festival
Never has a villain been this powerful. While Batman was the hero but one would have never thought to be this eager to watch a film based on the villain. Joker might not have had a plan in The Dark Knight, makers sure did have a plan set for him. We are now looking forward to Joker, the movie that has Joaquin Phoenix as the lead. The trailer made it to the internet recently and within no time, netizens went crazy. Adding to the buzz are the reviews coming in of Joker from The Venice Film Festival.

As per reports, Joker received an eight-minute standing ovation post its screening at the Venice Film Festival. In its review, The Independent has mentioned the Joker will go straight to the Oscars. Variety has reviewed it as, “Phoenix is astonishing as a mentally ill geek who becomes the killer-clown Joker in Todd Phillips’ neo-Taxi Driver knockout: the rare comic-book movie that expresses what’s happening in the real world.” IndieWire has reviewed it as “Unquestionably the boldest reinvention of ‘superhero’ cinema since The Dark Knight.”  The Guardian has called it a ‘Gloriously daring and explosive film.’

These reviews have only made it more difficult for us to wait for the film to make it to the theatres. Directed by Todd Phillips, the film will release on October 4, 2019. Apart from Joaquin, it will see Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Marc Maron and others in pivotal roles.

October 4 can you come already?
