Fauda star Idan Amedi who is an Israeli singer, songwriter, and actor, got severely injured in an ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, an Israeli diplomat confirmed the news on Monday. Amedi featured in Netflix's iconic show Fauda in which he played the role of Sagi, the on-screen defence person who turned out to be an off-screen military servant as well after he joined the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) after the outbreak of the war and got grievously injured in a battle in Gaza's Khan Younis. Informing about his injury, Israeli diplomat Avia Levi posted on X, "Idan Amedi, one of Fauda's actors, has been seriously injured in a battle in Gaza."

In the global hit Yes Studios series Fauda, Amedi essays the role of a soldier in an elite IDF unit that operates in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. However, in real life, the 35-year-old was serving as an IDF reservist in the Combat Engineering Corps when he was injured.  A report by Times of Israel citing Hebrew media reported that Amedi was brought to Sheba Medical Center in the Israeli city of Ramat Gan at around 4:00 pm (local time), on Monday. He reportedly underwent urgent, serious and lengthy surgery. Idan Amedi's co-star Rona-Lee Shimon who plays his love interest Nurit in the series shared an emotional Instagram post for him to wish speedy recovery.

Speaking about the Israel-Palestine conflict, it all began when the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023, killing over 1,200 people and taking 240 hostages. Later, Israel retaliated with intense bombardment and a ground invasion of Gaza which resulted in the death of more than 22,000 people. Since then, more than 57,000 people have been seriously injured in Israeli strikes on Gaza since October 7 and the conflict between Gaza and Israel continues.
