IPL 2020: Suresh Raina Thanks Punjab Police For Arresting Criminals Who Carried Out A Violent Attack On His Relatives
Suresh Raina took to Twitter to thank the Punjab Police officers for nabbing the criminals who had launched a violent attack on his relatives in Pathankot on August 19
Last month, an unfortunate incident happened with Chennai Super Kings player Suresh Raina. Following this, the cricketer had to walk out of the IPL 2020. Taking to social media, CSK player had informed his fans and followers about the same and he will give the entire tournament a miss as his uncle and cousin passed away and his aunt is still critical after the violent attack in Pathankot Thariyal village, on August 19. In the latest development, Punjab DGP announced the arrest of 3 people involved in the crime.
Suresh Raina took to Twitter and thanked the officers for nabbing the criminals. He Tweeted, “This morning in Punjab, I met the investigating officers who reportedly have napped three criminals. I truly appreciate all their efforts. Our loss can’t be recovered but this will surely prevent further crimes to happen. Thank you @PunjabPoliceInd@capt_amarinder for all the help.” In a detailed statement, DGP Dinkar Gupta said 11 other accused are yet to be arrested.
The FIR (no 153) was filed on Aug 20, 2020, under sections U/S 460/459/ 458 IPC PS Shapur Kandi, with Section 302, 307, 148, 149 IPC. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) consisting of IGP Border Range Amritsar, with SSP Pathankot, SP Investigation and DSP Dhar Kalan and others began the probe after the Punjab Chief Minister’s order.

Requesting Punjab Chief Minister, Suresh Raina had tweeted, “What happened to my family is Punjab was beyond horrible. My uncle was slaughtered to death, my bua & both my cousins had severe injuries. Unfortunately, my cousin also passed away last night after battling for life for days.
