It viral video features an argument between the tax department official and employees of the BBC
The Income Tax action against BBC has opened the floodgates of controversy in India. Now, a video from the BBC India office has apparently given a glimpse of the situation from inside one of the venues of the investigative “surveys”.
A video of the same has gone viral on the internet and it presumably belongs from the Delhi office. It video features an argument between the tax department official and employees of the BBC.
In the clip, the IT officer asked for access to the office, while the employees demanded a warrant. However, the Income Tax official angrily intruded and clarified his identity while declaring that people keep their phones away. However, in the background, a woman’s voice is heard asking the government official to use a better tone and not shout at them.

Shortly, the angry official asks why were they not opening the gates for ten minutes. However, when the woman demanded that the IT officials show the warrant, he said that he has done the needful and questioned them as to why they were not opening the gates for the past ten minutes.
The latest viral video comes after the BBC offices in Delhi and Mumbai were searched by Income Tax Department officers and account books were checked. The search began at around 11-11:30 am and some employees’ mobile phones were also seized, suggest the latest reports.
The raid was conducted weeks after BBC aired a two-part documentary on the 2002 Gujrat riots and India.
The tax officials also said that the department is looking at the documents related to the business operations of the company and those related to its Indian arm, reported India.com.
