INDIA To Be Renamed REPUBLIC OF BHARAT? Latest Presidential Invite For G20 Dinner Sparks Debate On Social Media-DETAILS BELOW
The current NDA government led by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is likely to introduce a landmark resolution during the Special Session of Parliament to rename India as ‘Bharat’, sources told Times Now. The Narendra Modi-led government has called a special session of the Parliament on September 18-21 and proposed to rename India as Bharat may be moved during the special of the Parliament.

The Rashtrapati Bhavan in its official communique to the G20 delegates, mentioned Droupadi Murmu as the President of Bharat, reported Times Now.

Indians felt a wave of mixed emotions after Rashtrapati Bhawan sent out an invite for a G20 dinner on Sept 9th in the name of 'President of Bharat' instead of the usual ‘President of India’.

The landmark development was shared by Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh in a post on X (formerly Twitter) while expressing his concerns and pointed out “Bharat, that was India, shall be a Union of States. But now even this “Union of States" is under assault.”

The G20 Summit will be held in the national capital from September 9 to 10 under India's presidency and several heads of state from across the world, including US President Joe Biden, are attending the event.

The senior congress leader took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and said, “Mr. Modi can continue to distort history and divide India, that is Bharat, that is a Union of States. But we will not be deterred."

“After all, what is the objective of INDIA parties? It is BHARAT—Bring Harmony, Amity, Reconciliation And Trust. Judega BHARAT! Jeetega INDIA!" Ramesh added.
