Sacred Games writer, comedian and National Award winning lyricist Varun Grover has penned down an anthem of his own to protest the NRC and Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019. Titled 'Hum Kaagaz Nahi Dikhaenge,’ this anthem has gone viral on the Internet, check out the video
Amid ongoing protests against the NRC and Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, a few celebrities such as Parineeti Chopra, Anurag Kashyap, Vicky Kaushal, Ayushmann Khurrana and others took to social media and raised their voice. While a section of Twitterati was furious that the Bollywood biggies won’t speak about it, with each passing day, more and more celebrities seem to be coming out with their opinions on it and the latest one to voice his opinion is Sacred Games writer Varun Grover. He has come up with a unique anthem of his own to protest the Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019.
Varun Grover is a writer, standup comedian and National Award winning lyricist. He won the award for Best Lyricist at the 63rd National Film Awards in 2015. In a video posted by the writer of Sacred Games fame on Twitter, he talks about the controversy surrounding CAA and NRC papers and about the protests and the government’s handling of it throughout the country. Titled 'Hum Kaagaz Nahi Dikhaenge,’ (We Won’t Show The NRC Papers) this anthem has gone viral on the Internet. In other news, Bollywood stars such as Farhan Akhtar, Swara Bhasker, Huma Qureshi, Sushant Singh, filmmaker Rahul Dholakia and others joined in for the protest against NRC and Citizenship (Amendment) Act, on December 19, held in Mumbai’s August Kranti Maidan.
