Ganeshotsav or Ganesh Chaturthi was started by Lokmanya Tilak with a grand celebration to welcome the Lord in Pune, Maharashtra. Since then, the traditions have been followed every year and people await the festive season for the Lord’s arrival. The festival is celebrated for a good span of 11 days, where devotes bring Lord Ganesha home and pray to him to seek blessings. During the festival sweets like Modak and savories are prepared to serve the Lord and the devotees who come to seek blessings. The devotees on the 11th day immerse the idol of Lord Ganesha awaiting his presence the upcoming year. During this festive season, many people from the city also head to their natives across Maharashtra to celebrate the festival at their homes. As the welcoming of Lord Ganesha must be grand, here are some ideas that will help you decorate your home.
Orchid Flowers
As you may think flowers are one of the worst ideas as they eventually dry up, but orchids although a slightly pricey affair are the best choice for decorating Ganeshji’s throne. The orchid flowers are long-lasting and have a life-span of 7 days. As the flowers look classy already, the flower installation will please Lord Ganesha and the guests as well.
Colored Paper Fans
Paper origami and craft is something everyone opts for these days and is the most conventional way to glam up your day. Paper flowers can be made of colored paper in different sizes and almost cover up the entire wall.
Colorful Rangoli
If we can decorate tables and walls for the Lord why not try some creativity on the floor as well. Rangoli’s are the best always. Making beautiful art with colored sand and enhancing it with candles or diya’s are the best. One can make a colorful Rangoli at the doorstep to add oomph.
Lotus Theme
The lotus theme is something unique and not many people opt for it. Imagine the Lord Ganesha sitting on a Lotus throne, sounds interesting and looks amazing as well. Check out the picture below.
