Former James Bond Pierce Brosnan Wants To See A Female 007 Spy; Says ‘Get Out Of The Way, Guys, And Put A Woman Up There’
Daniel Craig, who currently stars as the famous spy James Bond in the franchise is currently busy with Cary Fukanaga’s No Time To Die. The film which is slated to release next year, will be the last one in which he plays James Bond and will leave the franchise post the release of the film. With much debate about who would succeed Daniel Craig in the James Bond franchise, former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan has now expressed his wish to see a female Bond taking over the role.

Pierce Brosnan has four James Bond film to his name and has starred in films of the franchise such as Tomorrow Never Dies and Golden Eye. The former James Bond feels that it is time for men to move over and make way for the women. When asked if he would like to see a woman as the 007 spy, Brosnan told The Hollywood Reporter, “Yes! I think we’ve watched the guys do it for the last 40 years, get out of the way, guys, and put a woman up there. I think it would be exhilarating, it would be exciting.” Having said that, he doubts if the producers of James Bond franchise Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson would let it happen under their watch. The 66-year-old actor also addressed the #MeToo movement and mentioned that there has to be a few changes with how the character is shown. He said, “Without question, yes... The #MeToo movement has been relevant and significant and well needed in our society, so they’ll have to address that.”


The latest James Bond film,No Time To Die which will see Daniel Craig play the role of Bond for the last time, will hit the theatres on April 3, 2020 in the UK and April 8, 2020 in the United States.
