Celebrity mehendi artist Veena Nagda is a well-known name in the entertainment industry. Over the years, she made a name for herself by working with many well-known celebrities and actresses. Apart from her extensive work in the entertainment world, she has had a long-standing relationship with the Ambani family. Having been working with them for around 38 years, she recently recalled how she was called to do mehendi for Isha Ambani and Shloka Mehta when they were just 6-year-old girls.
Opening up about her life experiences, Veena during an interaction with Bollywood Now discussed her journey in detail and stated that it was Karan Johar who tagged her as the “Mehendi Queen of Bollywood.” She revealed that the filmmaker had given her the idea to have her card so that she could grow her business. She went on to share that during the start of her career, she used to charge Rs 25 for two full hands of mehendi and that it was her first payment from the Ambani family.
Nagda added how Kokilaben Ambani told her to have a telephone and card. She expressed how she decided to take up the advice. Praising the family, she stated that from Kokilaben Ambani to Nita Ambani, their bond is 38 years old. Recalling about the first opportunity she got to go to the Ambani house, Veena stated that many suggested that she should charge them a lot. However, she didn’t do that because her mother advised her to charge them the same amount, she charges her regular customers. Her mother asked her to consider it as a great working opportunity.
Further in the interview, the mehendi artist stated that Isha Ambani was only 6 years old when she chose her to be her mehendi artist. She went on to recall how she had attended Dhirubhai Ambani’s function where she had decked Isha’s hand with mehendi, along with Shloka Mehta. She added that the kids were all in Singapore for their studies and would host mehendi parties when they returned home.
