It’s believed that not all heroes wear capes and industrialist Ratan Tata is surely a perfect living example of it in today’s time. The country, at present, is battling COVID-19, a deadly virus that has affected and claimed a massive number of lives globally. The ongoing lockdown is a preventive measure to reduce its further spreading. The PM of India – Narendra Modi – has also introduced a public relief fund to help those in utter need. A lot of people, including several prominent personalities, have come forth to donate their share. One such case is that of Ratan Tata, as mentioned above.

Taking to his social media, the Chairman of the Tata Industries and group, Ratan Tata, announced that his Tata group, comprising of Tata Trusts and Tata Sons, will be together donating a whopping Rs 1, 500 crore to the Coronavirus relief fund. The funds will be used for providing equipment to medical professionals, testing kits, setting up treatment facilities and respiratory systems for treating the increasing cases throughout the country. They will also help in training health workers and the common people to create awareness and empower them against the deadly virus.

“The COVID 19 crisis is one of the toughest challenges we will face as a race. The Tata Trusts and the Tata group companies have in the past risen to the needs of the nation. At this moment, the need of the hour is greater than any other time,” wrote Ratan Tata in his post.
