The Novel Coronavirus outbreak has been taking several lives across the world every minute and people are worried about their families every single day. With the virus spread in several countries worldwide, the WHO (World Health Organization ) declared COVID-19 as a pandemic weeks back. As everyone in the world is worried and in distress ever since the deadly virus emerged from Wuhan province of China at the beginning of the year, a Chinese novel that predicts the Coronavirus outbreak 40 years back has now left social media mystified about Wuhan-400.
A fictional reference of the Novel Coronavirus outbreak from a 1981 crime thriller novel has left the internet baffled. According to the book titled The Eyes of Darkness by author Dean Koontz, the fictional 'Wuhan-400' mentioned in the book that had the power to wipe off a population about 40 years back. The people on the internet are comparing the COVID-19 pandemic to Wuhan-400 mentioned in the book as an excerpt from the book shared on Twitter talks about a Chinese scientist Li Chen who "defected to the US, carrying a diskette record of China's most important and dangerous and new biological weapon in a decade."
As the novel talks about Wuhan-400 being a perfect biological weapon as it badly affects only human beings and no other living creatures, on Twitter, @DarrenPlymouth took to the micro-blogging site to share the excerpt from the book and tweeted, "It's a strange world we live in. #coronavirus #COVID19 #Wuhan." Replying to the tweet, another user tweeted, “I believe anything we write will happen one day,” while another tweeted, “I said I suspected it was a biological weapon to be used as a form of population control!”

Meanwhile, as the Twitterati have ended up correlating the COVID-19 pandemic with Wuhan-400, the excerpt from the book also mentions that the Chinese could use Wuhan-400 to wipe out a city and a country, and after wiping out a city, there would be no need for them to conduct tricky and expensive decontamination before they moved in and took over the conquered territory.
