Teenage rapper Lil Tay and her brother were said to have died on August 9, are very much alive! However, in a rather surprising turn of events, the rapper has come out and said that she and her brother are alive. She added that the reports of their death are completely baseless and claimed that her account was hacked.
"I want to make it clear that my brother and I are safe and alive, but I'm completely heartbroken, and struggling to even find the right words to say. It's been a very traumatising 24 hours. All day yesterday, I was bombarded with endless heartbreaking and tearful phone calls from loved ones all while trying to sort out this mess," Lil Tay was quoted as saying by TMZ.
She continued, "My Instagram account was compromised by a 3rd party and used to spread jarring misinformation and rumours regarding me, to the point that even my name was wrong. My legal name is Tay Tian, not 'Claire Hope'."

She has also wondered what exactly happened that it took more than 24 hours for them to get back control and reveal that the news of her and her brother's deaths were falsified.
In a statement via Instagram, her family shared the devastating news of their beloved child’s sudden demise. Following the statement, Claire’s manager Harry Tsang also question her death and said that Tay and her brother had no history of health issues and the "family member" who posted that message was also unknown.

Lil Tay, who is legally known as Claire Hope, had amassed over 3 million followers on Instagram, where her family shared the news of her tragic demise.
According to ITVX, the family moved from Canada to Los Angeles to pursue Lil Tay’s career. The YouTube sensation’s stepbrother also made headlines in 2021 when he launched a GoFundMe campaign for his sister, who was allegedly suffering from a serious illness. However, the campaign was met with scepticism as some people its authenticity.
