Ashneer Grover Takes A Subtle Dig At Ranveer Singh For Posting Maldives’ Photo While Promoting Lakshadweep; Netizens Say, ‘Ghanghor Beizzati’
The tensions between India and Maldives in on the rise after a few Maldivian ministers condemned the country and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for promoting Lakshadweep and Indian Islands. Amid ‘Boycott Maldives’ and ‘Explore Indian Islands’ trending on social media, Bollywood celebrities have been encouraging their fans to visit and explore the beautiful islands. It was then that comedian VIr Das took a dig at Indian celebrities and influencers who are afraid to post their photos from their Maldives vacations.

Adding to Das’ tweet, Shark Tank India season 1’s Ashneer Grover mocked an Indian actor for promoting Lakshadweep while posting and hiding photos of Maldives. Fans were quick to notice that he was talking about Ranveer Singh, who has deleted his post after noticing his blunder. For the unversed, in his now-deleted tweet, the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani had urged his followers to visit Lakshadweep and mistakenly shared a photo of Maldives. Netizens were quick to take to the comment section of the post to hail Grover for his witty tweet. One wrote, “Hahahaa I also think about the same yesterday .. many already deleted their old Maldives post.” Another wrote, “Ranveer Singh you mean? Talking about Ashneer, he co-founded the brand BharatPe in 2018. He had also gone on to invest in many start-ups. However, it all came crashing down when his company alleged he and his wife Madhuri Jain of misusing the company funds and they were stripped of their positions. Apart from being a part of Roadies, he had gone on to publish his own book Doglapan.

For those who don’t know, the unsolicited comments were made after photos of Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Lakshadweep Islands in the first week of January to inaugurate the Kochi-Lakshadweep Islands Submarine Optical Fiber Connection. In a tweet, Maldives Minister Abdulla Mahzoom Majid claimed that India is diverting attention from Maldives by promoting Lakshadweep as ‘another tourist spot.’ He even mentioned that India has faced challenges when it comes to competing with Maldives in beach tourism, which has caused a huge outrage on social media.
