Arjun Reddy Star Vijay Deverakonda Irks Netizens As He Chooses Dictatorship Over Democracy
Arjun Reddy star Vijay Deverakonda got the social media talking over his statement, so much so that the actor is heavily being trolled on Twitter. The statement that caused a stir on Twitter is when Vijay shared that he doesn't entirely believe in Democracy. He said that he would choose Dictatorship over democracy and also mentioned that not everyone should be allowed to vote. Vijay's statement was shared in an interview with Anupama Chopra in Film Companion which was published on September 1, but a deleted snippet was posted on Film Companion South's YouTube page on October 8. Baradwaj asked Vijay if he was interested in politics and would join a party a few years down the line.

The video was shared by a user named Advaid on twitter and wrote, "Did he just say that he prefers Dictatorship more than democracy and not everyone should be allowed to vote?  Deverakonda is a classic example of how apolitical folks slowly move towards RW Authoritarianism in the end." In the clip, Vijay is heard saying, "I do not think all citizens of the country should be allowed to vote. For example, suppose you board a plane to Mumbai. The pilot is chosen by all its passengers. It has good agencies. Whichever company the aircraft belongs to, they choose the most suitable person to fly it."

"Why we're having money and cheap liquor swing a vote, is ridiculous. I'm not saying that rich people should vote. I don't even think rich people should vote. I think the middle class, who have the most at stake, people who are educated and won't get swung by little money...I don't even think everyone should be allowed to vote because they don't know who they're voting for and why they're voting for," he argues in the video. He then said that Dictatorship is the right way but has to be a good guy.

After he said that in the interview, netizens were not okay with his statement and slammed for doing so. A user wrote, "What did I just watch? Why is he being given a free platform to calmly say this shit?" while another one said, "So sickening to hear this and no one interrupted him. Good guy and dictatorship don't go together."

Vijay Deverakonda is even trending on Twitter but for all the wrong reasons.
