An FIR has been lodged against actress Raveena Tandon, director-choreographer Farah Khan and Bharti Singh in Mankapur police station, Nagpur, Maharashtra for allegedly hurting sentiments of a community. According to news agency PTI, the complainant Khushbu Bhagwan Parwar (27) is a resident of Gorewada. According to Inspector Vazeer Sheikh of Mankapur police station, the complainant has claimed that the three- Raveena, Farah, and Bharti- made a ‘mockery’ of the religious term in a television show telecast on December 25, 2019.

PTI quoted the official saying, “The complaint was submitted on December 27 and after investigating it, an offence under section 295a (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage the religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or the religious beliefs) was registered. We will issue summons to the three soon.” Another FIR had been filed back in December against Raveena Tandon, Farah Khan and Bharti Singh for allegedly hurting religious sentiments of the Christian community. The controversy had taken place after the three used the term ‘Hallelujah’ on Farah Khan’s YouTube show and this didn’t go down well with certain members of the community. Soon after, a complaint under Section 295-A IPC was registered with Amritsar’s Ajnala Police, along with video proof.
