India’s most prestigious film awards, the 69th National Film Awards is all set to be held on Thursday evening. The much-awaited winners of the awards will be announced by the Jury of the National Media Center, New Delhi today. Netizens have been left excited to know the names of the winners as the time of the announcement inches closer by the hour. Names of celebrated pan-Indian actors have been doing the round on social media, leaving the fans even more excited.

The entire event of the official announcement is available for the audiences to live stream online. As it is being reported by Bollywood Life, the winners will be announced during a press conference which will be held on August 24. Conducted in Delhi, the event will be starting at 5 pm. The event will be live streamed on PIB India’s Facebook page and YouTube Channel. With flawless performances all across India, netizens are waiting with baited breath to know who will be awarded this year. 


Talking about the list of contenders, Alia Bhatt and Kangana Ranaut’s names have been floating around the internet for the Best Actress category. Both the actresses proved their mettle with their powerful and versatile performances. While Alia impressed everyone as Gangubai Kathiawadi in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial, Kangana essayed the role of actress-turned-politician J. Jayalalithaa, in the movie Thalaivi, which was celebrated by everyone.

The upcoming event is all set to mark a major face-off between regional cinema and mainstream Bollywood. Speaking of the Best Actor award, Joju George and Ram Charan’s names are making the headlines for being the top contenders in the category. Their performances in Nayattu and RRR, respectively, have managed to leave the audiences spellbound. Another actor whose name has emerged in the category is R Madhavan for his performance in his directorial Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. The movie including many others like Nayattu, Minnal Murali and Meppadiyan are also the top contenders for the various other categories.
