Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding celebrations have been a trending topic of discussion on the internet. Be it the three-day event that was hosted in Gujarat or the recent cruise, the photos and videos of the extravagant celebrations took social media by storm. As the Ambanis and Merchants gear up for the upcoming nuptials of their kids, recently a well-known Bollywood paparazzo opened up about his experience of covering Anant and Radhika’s Jamnagar pre-wedding celebration.  

During an interaction on Hindi Rush’s YouTube talk show, paparazzo Varinder Chawla was asked if celebrities provide them with reimbursements to cover their wedding outside of Mumbai. He explains that they tend to incur losses at such events. Recalling his experience of covering Ambani’s pre-wedding celebration in Jamnagar, Gujarat, he revealed that his team didn’t make money by covering the soiree. He went on to explained that even though they weren’t invited to the event, they decided to cover it as the entire film industry was a part of the event. Quoted by Bollywood Shaadis, Chawla said, “It wasn’t like we were invited to Jamnagar recently. We cover it because we know the entire film industry is going to be there. I went myself, but we couldn’t find a single hotel room; the entire town was booked out. Somehow, we managed to get one room and three of us squeezed in together.” ALSO READ: OMG! He went on to explain that not only had the transportation cost in the city increased by four times, but the paparazzi were given special badges at the airport. He added, “At the airport, they gave us badges and had created a special area for the media. But it’s not like they invited us inside the venue to cover the wedding. I tried to see if I could get in, but it was like a fortress.”


Talking about their upcoming nuptials, the childhood sweethearts, Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant have known each other for a long time. Radhika is the daughter of Encore Healthcare CEO Viren Merchant and Shaila Merchant. They hosted their first pre-wedding celebration In March 2024 to introduce their wildlife center Vantara to the guests. This was followed by a cruise outing in May with the theme ‘La Vita E Un Viaggio’. According to the reports by Bollywood Shaadis, the ship costs around USD 900 million (approximately Rs 7,500 crore).

According to Anant and Radhika’s ‘save the date’ invitation, they will be tying the knot on July 12. The wedding will be taking place at Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.
