Bollywood actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut often sparks controversy with her bold statements and controversial takes. She never leaves a stone unturned when it comes to sharing her views about ongoing matters. She recently lashed out at Congress MP and Leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi. She claimed that he should be tested for drug consumption for his ‘nonsensical’ take on the Union Budget 2024 against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)  leaders in the parliament.

In a video, that is now going viral, the BJP MP from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi targeted Gandhi for his speech in the Lok Sabha. He had expressed his disdain over the Union Budget 2024 and attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat, Mukesh Ambani, and Gautam Adani during his speech. While expressing how the budget is not beneficial for the middle class of the country, he alleged that these six people had trapped the country in their ‘Chakravyuh’. During an interview with a media publication, she expressed how the politician has hurt the constitution with his words. Sharing how he doesn‘t respect democracy, the 38-year-old actress stated that he did a “comedy show in the Parliament.” Talking about the Congress leader’s statements, quoted by the Free Press Journal, she said in Hindi, “I feel that he should be tested if he is doing drug consumption. The way he reaches the Parliament and the way he speaks irrationally. Ranaut went on to add, “Don't you feel that the person's drug test should be conducted, I think it should be done. Either he is drunk or under the influence of drugs whenever he reaches the Parliament. Nobody can make this kind of statement in their right mind.”


On the work front, Kangana Ranaut was last seen in Tejas. The movie failed to impress the audience as well as the critics and it tanked at the box office. She will be next seen in Emergency. Not only is the movie her first solo directorial, but she will also be essaying the role of India’s late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The release date of the movie is yet to be announced as it was postponed due to her political commitments. Apart from that, she also has a few other projects in her pipeline.
