'Mohammad Rafi Should Not Have Sung BHAJANS' Reasons Paresh Rawal Justifying BHU’s Firoz Khan Controversy
Paresh Rawal recently took to his Twitter handle to share his thoughts on the ongoing controversy revolving around a Benaras Hindu University professor. A Muslim scholar has been appointed as a teacher in the literature department of Sanskrit Vidya Dharm Vigyan (SVDV). This has led to a protest by a few students stating that he does not belong to our religion and hence, he won't be able to understand the students. Now, Paresh Rawal has shared his thoughts on this controversy and has stated that if religion had anything to do with language then Mohammad Rafi Ji should have not sung any Bhajans.

In his first tweet, he wrote, "Stunned by the  protest against professor Feroz Khan   !what language has to do with Religion!?!?!? Irony is  professor Feroz has done his masters and PhD in Sanskrit  !!! For Heavens sake stop this god damn idiocy!" He continued in the next tweet, "By same logic great singer late Shri Mohammad Rafi ji should not have sung any BHAJANS and Naushad Saab should not have composed it !!!!" Mohammad Rafi and Naushad Saab have curated many devotional songs including "Man Tarpat Hari Darshan Ko Aaj" from "Baiju Bawra" (1952) and "Madhuban mein Radhika nache re" from "Kohinoor" (1960).

While students and research team continue to protest against Firoz Khan, reportedly the authorities at Benaras Hindu University are quite firm on their decision of appointing Firoz Khan as a professor of Sanskrit.

It is not for the first time that Paresh Rawal has publically spoken about controversies and matters affecting the nation. Being a politician, he has often shared his thoughts on what's going on wrong in the society.
