Sushant Singh Breaks Down, “My Sister Can’t Stand/Walk Without Support”
Yesterday we brought you the shocking story of Sushant Singh’s younger sister, Sofiya, being diagnosed with a neurological autoimmune disorder, called CIDP. This evening we caught up with him for a brief chat. Read the full conversation below
Sorry to other you, but
how did it all begin?
Sofiya twisted her ankle and went to the doctor, who did a few tests to find
out the cause as to why the ankle had twisted in such an unusual manner. It was
discovered to our horror, that she was suffering from CIDP.
So, how is the treatment going?
She has not responded to allopathy, essentially because this disorder cannot be
cured with that mode of treatment. It is basically incurable.
So now?
We are trying methods like yoga, ayurveda etc which have been suggested to us
by the overwhelming response which I have got from my online post yesterday.
Who called from the industry?
Sanjay Gadvi (Dhoom director) and Randeep Hooda (whose sister is a doctor)
called. There have been many more responses suggesting yoga, supplements etc.
There is hope.
Financially sound?
Thankfully, she is.
Sushant Singh Snapped At An Event
Where is she now?
In her house, near Delhi. Her husband and 18-year-old son are looking after
her. This is a condition where your body starts attacking you, your muscles and
nerves in particular.
Is she able to stand and walk on her own?
(pauses) No, she needs support.
Is this ailment fatal?
It can be. We cannot cure it, it seems, it will only have to be controlled.
Are you in Delhi/Mumbai now as we speak?
I have just come back after meeting her and will be frequently shuttling
hereafter.
