KAPIL SHARMA'S BUA UPASNA SPEAKS OUT: Krushna Abhishek's show is Comedy Nights Dead and not Live!
One of the important characters of Comedy Nights Live (CNL), Upasna Singh (Bua), quit the show 2 days ago. To every section of the media, she refused to state the reasons of her decision. All she said was, "I can't divulge the details. I might address a press conference next week to talk about it. All I can say at the moment is that few things were not happening right." But when SpotboyE called her up this evening, she revealed a blow-by-blow account of her side of the story.

For those who've come in late, Upasna stayed back with Colors to work with Krushna Abhishek, Bharti Singh and Optimystix (producer) when the entire cast of Comedy Nights with Kapil decided to do The Kapil Sharma Show on Sony Entertainment Television post their fallout with Colors.

Read on for Upasna's fearless outburst:

Why did you walk out from CNL?
There are many reasons. How many do you want me to tell you?

All?
One should work in a place where he/she gets job satisfaction. What is live about Comedy Nights Live? It's Comedy Nights Dead. Mujhe bilkul maza nahi aa raha tha. Besides, Optimystix ditched me on not just the agreement but payment as well. Till date, I have been paid for only 2 days of work when I have worked for 4 months with them. We had mutually agreed on certain clauses 4 months ago, now they have sent me some new clauses to sign upon.

What?!
Yes. They ditched me on other counts as well.

Please continue...
They said that I will be seen in every episode. They said that I will be a very important character in the show. They said that I will be paid my acting fees every 30 days. Aur aisa kuch bhi nahi hua. Add this to the fact that I was not happy creatively.

Elaborate on your creative dissatisfaction...
I was very unsatisfied. I never felt that I was doing any comedy. Kuch likha hi nahin hota tha. I used to go up to the director and tell him: If I can't laugh while reading your lines, how will the viewers laugh? And I felt very uncomfortable too.

Why uncomfortable?
They felt that I was still a part of Kapil Sharma's group. They seem to be anti-Kapil. They used my presence in their team because I was a prominent member in Kapil's team.

Since you say that you hardly featured in the show, I guess you must be waiting in the vanity van for hours and hours?

No. They shoot at jet speed. In contrast when I shot with Kapil, we used to do several rehearsals and even have meetings where actors offered several inputs. CNL mein toh bas... And do you know what else they wanted from me?

No, but tell me...
They wanted me to give in writing that I won't do any comedy show alongside. I think Optimystix was very wary of me. I had no problem with Colors though. I felt that Colors wanted me in the show, but Optimystix didn't. So, they ended up writing lines for me which were irrelevant in the scheme of things, plus I was not given any punchlines. I never got good vibes from them. I always felt that I was an outsider; I was treated like one.

Did they give you any lines in CNL to say against Kapil? There have been instances when other players in CNL have done this...
I was not given any such lines. I think they knew that I would never say anything against Kapil. Why should I say anything against Kapil? I had a very good time working with him and his team. Frankly I never want to say anything bad against anybody, but this time I have been pushed against the wall by Optimystix a bit too much. Yeh log kehte kuch hain, karte kuch aur hi hain.

So, are you now going to approach The Kapil Sharma Show?
No, I won't approach them. I am not short of work. I am doing Santoshi Maa. Even before Comedy Nights with Kapil, I have done a good amount of work. I have survived in this industry for a long time and shall always do all my assignments diligently. But yes, I want to tell Optimystix that they are not the only company who provide work to the acting fraternity on Indian television.

Would you agree that you did a mistake by not going to Sony's The Kapil Sharma Show?
I took a decision and it didn't work out. That's fine. But I must say here that I have not had a bad experience like the one I had in CNL during my entire career of 18 years.

What vibes did you get from CNL's main cast- Krushna Abhishek and Bharti Singh?
I wouldn't like to answer that question.

How will you recover your dues?
Come what may, Optimystix will have to pay me. I have proof that I have worked on the show and gone unpaid.
