Congratulations! How did this role came to you?
My show (Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi) recently went off
air, and I guess my performance in it was noticed. Perhaps it showed my
conviction, and that was enough for me to land this one (laughs).
Were you thrilled while signing the show?
Yes, I was thrilled and excited but at the same time
there was and is a little pressure. It is a huge show and from my end I will
try my level best to live up to the expectations.
Kasautii Zindagii Kay’s promo has created a lot of
buzz...
An original will always remain an original. We aren’t
trying to replace it, we are bringing it back. It will be relevant to today’s
day and age. And I am glad that people are as excited as we all are.

Have you watched Kasautii in your childhood?
Yes, of course, this was one of the many K series shows
that I grew up watching. And little did I know then that I would be a part of
it in the near future.
Did you take any inspiration from Prerna(Shweta Tiwari)’s
character?
Well, we both are different actors and there might be a
difference in the way we portray one character. But yes, I did my basic
homework on Prerna.

How much was Ekta Kapoor’s involvement in your character,
and in the show?
She is completely involved in the show, and she has all
the reason to be. This show has been very dear to her.
She kind of started with it, in a way. This and a few
other shows made her so successful, and a name to reckon with. The show was
like her baby and now that we are coming back with it, you can imagine the
level of excitement from her end.

From what I see and know of her, she is diligent, a
perfectionist and a visionary and definitely wants everything done
perfectly.

comeback with such a grand show?
